Today, Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement of solidarity with the United Nations on the twentieth anniversary of the bombing of the headquarters of the United Nations mission in Baghdad in 2003. The
Ministry’s spokesman, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, said in a statement received by the information agency, “The Ministry The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its solidarity with the United Nations and its working organs, on the twentieth anniversary of the bombing of the headquarters of the United Nations Mission in Baghdad in 2003, which claimed the lives of twenty-two of its workers.
Al-Sahhaf added, "This incident brings us back to the importance of standing up to strengthen our humanitarian responses, whatever the circumstances. Terrorism targets all of us, and it is our solidarity responsibility towards confronting it and continuing our joint work to undermine the influence of its ideology everywhere."
He pointed out that "the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highly values these sacrifices," calling for "more joint action on World Humanitarian Day." End/25
