The Ministry of Transport announced that the operating mechanism of the Al-Faw Grand Port will be based on advanced and smart technological systems equivalent to those used in international ports.
Director of the Ministry's Media Office, Maytham Al-Safi, confirmed that "these systems will facilitate dealings with commercial stakeholders and international companies, reduce paper procedures and administrative routine, and will contribute to facilitating customs procedures."
Al-Safi pointed out that the large port of Al-Faw will use clean energy to reduce the effects of pollution. He explained that the port constitutes an effective commercial and economic link that contributes to the rapid arrival of goods to Europe via Turkey, through rail and land development routes.
He stressed that the large port of Al-Faw has components and characteristics that make it an effective link, as goods can enter in just five days, and its capacity is expanded to meet the country's growing needs.
In a related context, Al-Safi pointed out that the Ministry is working on strategic projects, with a focus on establishing a gas processing platform in Al-Faw Port, indicating that they have formed a joint committee to prepare a comprehensive vision for the project, and that they are seeking to implement this vital project in the coming months.
