    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
Today, Sunday (June 2, 2024), the Ministry of Electricity allocated phone numbers and a hotline to receive citizen reports about malfunctions and complaints in the electrical system and malfunctions in the network.
This step comes from the Ministry of Electricity, with the increase in demand and consumption of electrical current with a significant rise in temperatures.
It is noteworthy that the Minister of Electricity, Ziad Fadel, decided yesterday, Saturday, to stop vacations and delegations for maintenance officials and to fully mobilize to provide services to citizens.
It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, visited the Ministry of Electricity, last Thursday, and pointed out during a meeting with the senior staff there that “there are daily outages in the 11 KV distribution feeders, causing fatigue and complaint among citizens, as a result of the large number of outages during the processing time.” Stating that “the large number of holidays and interruptions is sufficient justification to exempt branch managers and maintenance department officials.”
He said, "There are sick souls carrying out sabotage operations within the system, because there are those who do not like the stability achieved in the country, and the silence of those responsible for the imbalance in the system is considered negligence or deliberate sabotage on their part."
Al-Sudani stressed that "the Director General of Distribution will leave his office and be present in the field, and that the ministry's representatives will conduct continuous field tours," noting that "the peak summer season will be a station for evaluating the ministry's performance."
