Twilight News / Reuters news agency quoted a US official as saying on Monday that Iranian gunboats approached "is not safe" from the US Navy in the Strait of Hormuz in the Gulf ship last Saturday.
Said the official, who requested anonymity, said that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard boats approached within 600 yards of the US ship "Ao.os.on.os Aanfeinsabl" and stopped.
The American ship, accompanied by three ships of the British Royal Navy, and was forced to change the composition of its trajectory, according to the same source added.
He added that attempts were made to communicate by radio with the Iranian boats, but without response, pointing out that the incident was "unsafe and unprofessional."
