BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Baghdad's provincial council warned on Saturday of rising prices for goods and imports in the Iraqi market.

Council member Mohammed al-Rubaie said: "We have seen a rise in prices by 20%, and this is arbitrary against the citizen Baghdadi."

He attributed this rise to "there are thousands of containers are reserved at the port of Umm Qasr because of the routine mechanisms followed, which led to a lack of supply in the Iraqi market in exchange for the large demand."
