The Cabinet issued a number of resolutions during its regular session held on Monday afternoon under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, as well as the topics prepared for its agenda, issues and political and security developments.

At the beginning of the meeting, Abdul Mahdi congratulated the ministers who voted in the House of Representatives and attended the session today, expressing the hope to complete the government formation soon after the vote on the Ministers of Education and Migration.

The Prime Minister reviewed the position of Iraq and its preparations after the US decision to withdraw from Syria, and the measures and plans to be taken to protect Iraq and to avoid any damage or repercussions of this decision on our security and stability and security of the region in general.

The Cabinet voted to suspend the official working hours on Tuesday and to propose that the 25/12 of each year be an official holiday on the occasion of the birth of Christ and vote on amending the law of public holidays.

The Council of Ministers approved the nomination of representatives of ministries and governorates for the purpose of completing the file of services in the government program, and approved the annual report of the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Council.

In the field of human rights and freedoms, the reports of the Republic of Iraq on the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights have been contradictory.
