    TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday mocked Saudi Arabia's US-backed Patriot defense system and failed to tackle recent Aramco attacks.
    Rouhani said in a television interview on "Fox News," that the inability of the US systems "Patriot" anti-air to repel the missile attack on Saudi Arabia, "shame," adding that US intelligence had not known in advance.
    “All those defense systems, weapons and radars scattered all over Saudi Arabia, on the Arabian Peninsula, why didn't they prevent these missiles from reaching their targets? What is the use of installing all these Patriot missile defense systems? ”
    "Even if we accept all these US accusations, it will be a shame for the United States and they will have to answer why they cannot stop and intercept these missiles," he said, adding that the Houthis had a "very advanced" weapons system.
    Rouhani insisted on the work of the CIA, noting that it was unaware of the imminent attack. “Why were US intelligence agencies receiving large budgets at the expense of American taxpayers not fully aware of this Yemeni military capability? An answer must be provided. ”
    “America should say why sell so many weapons to the region? Why can't they determine where the attack started? Then they can show evidence. ”
    The phrase “Ali”
    In his remarks, Rouhani responded to Saudi accusations that his country was responsible for the attacks on Aramco because of the words "Ali" on one of the weapons that carried out the attacks.
    He said the accusations against his country were “without evidence”.
    "The official representative who believes that all Iranians are Shiites, and all Yemenis are not Shiites, is ridiculed," he said.
    He said: "Such a prayer (Ya Ali) is used in the prayers of Shiites in Iran, Yemen and Iraq, and based on that argued that this written statement is proof of the origin of Iranian weapons, without foundation."
    It is noteworthy that the Houthis claimed the latest attack on two Saudi Aramco facilities, on 14 September, by drones, while Riyadh confirmed that Tehran was involved in this attack.
    He said US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, stressing that there is no evidence of an attack from Yemen, and blamed Iran, while Tehran denies the accusations in full and in detail.
