    Representative Jamal al-Muhammadawi, a member of the House of Representatives, confirmed that the establishment of the Iraqi Airways company, a contract with the British company (Mines) and the payment of 70% of the revenues to this company, is a waste of public money.

    According to a document issued by his office, Al-Muhammadawi said, "According to the information and documents, it appears that the Ministry of Transport has contracted with the British company Means for the purpose of developing ground services and handling of fuel services provided to aircraft, which shows us a number of things."

    And added "The ground services division of the airlines company used to perform the aforementioned services and it provides those services to the Iraqi aircraft free of charge, while the services will be provided by the Mines company in exchange for annual sums amounting to more than (41,152,925) $ per year based on the number Annual flights of (9,209) flights to and from Baghdad airport, and thus the airline will lose the revenue of foreign aircraft ($ 28,092,730), from which the percentage (13%) of Iraqi Airways is subtracted, which amounts to (3,652,054). Thus, the net revenue of foreign aircraft is (24,440,675) $, while the revenues received from Iraqi aircraft are (41,152,925) $, so the total revenue from Iraqi and foreign aircraft is ($ 65,593,597) and by subtracting operating expenses The estimate of ($ 4,500,000) is the remainder ($ 61,093,597) and when subtracting the airlines' share of (30%), which is ($ 18,328,079), then the net amount that is paid to the company Equal to (70%) is($ 42,765,517). '

    He pointed out that "the revenues of air freight will lose the Iraqi Airways company (70%) of its revenues, as for the revenue of air freight, especially for the transportation of shipments of the Central Bank, it will lose up to (50%) of the revenues. As for the revenues of ground handling of fuel, the company Iraqi Airways will pay foreign aircraft revenues from fuel ($ 4,300,000), and revenues from Iraqi aircraft from fuel handling ($ 10,309,000), and a total of that ($ 14,609,000), while ground handling of fuel was provided to the aircraft. Iraqi Airways, free of charge, by the fuel division of the airline.

    He explained that the set of what the Iraqi Airways company pays for all services is equal to (54,604,840) $.

    He stressed that the Iraqi Airways contracting with the British company Menez and paying (70%) of the revenues is a waste of public money and is not commensurate with the conditions of the financial deficit in the state budget, as there is no justification for paying those sums to foreign companies for services provided by the airline. Without any problems and with good efficiency.

    Al-Muhammadawi held the Ministry of Transport and the management of the Iraqi Airways Company fully responsible for this waste.
