The House of Representatives commented, on Saturday, about challenging the budget and other preparations for the next year.
A member of the Presidency of the Council, Bashir Al-Haddad, said, "The government and some blocs have challenged some articles of the budget law before the Federal Court, and this appeal, whether by the budget law or any of its articles, is a constitutional matter, but it does not affect the rest of the articles, as the law as a whole remains a duty to implement." It was also published in the official gazette, and the government should initiate the implementation of the budget law as it was published until a decision from the Federal Court regarding the contested articles is issued.
On the budget for next year, Al-Haddad said, "During the discussion of the general budget law for this year, there was a belief that this budget will be for two or three years, given the economic and health conditions and challenges that the country is going through."
A member of the Presidency ruled out that "the government will prepare the 2022 budget in the event that elections are held next October, so the current year budget law will remain in effect for at least another year."
