    The Federal Integrity Commission revealed the details of the recommendations that resulted from the first meeting to discuss ways to improve the work of border crossings, explaining that the recommendations will be submitted to the office of the Prime Minister; In order to ratify it and direct the relevant departments to implement it
    The first meeting, which was organized by the Federal Integrity Commission, recommended the establishment of the Border Ports Coordination Team headed by the Commission, consisting of representatives from the governorates that include border crossings, in addition to the Financial Supervision Bureau and the Border Ports Authority.
    The meeting, which was attended by the President of the Federal Financial Supervision Bureau, the head of the Border Ports Authority, the governors of the governorates that host the ports, and the Director-General of the General Customs Authority, called on the relevant authorities at the border crossings to implement the recommendations contained in the reports of the Integrity Commission and to follow up on the submission of financial disclosure to workers in its departments, as well as The use of automation in the work of the ports, and the activation and expansion of the work of the electronic platform prepared by the ports to include all departments of the entities operating in them. 
    The recommendations emphasized the need to close unofficial crossings, combat smuggling operations, and implement Cabinet Resolution No. (13 of 2019) for the Kurdistan Region to subject the region’s outlets to the authority of the federal border crossings, in addition to unifying the collection fees between the region’s outlets and the federal government outlets, and adhering to the agricultural (calendar) and prevent the entry of any prohibited items.  
    And it stressed the fine-tuning of customs and tax exemptions; Because it affects the state's revenues, and compliance with the directives and orders issued by the Border Ports Authority; Based on the provisions of its establishment Law No. (30 of 2016) and Cabinet Resolution No. (84 of 2020), with the unification of the management of security authorities at the ports; To ensure the flow of work, and to activate the role of the International Code in accordance with international requirements; Being responsible for the security of the sea ports (ports).
    The recommendations called for paying the governorates' share of their border outlets (50%) in order to be able to deduct (20%) of them. To develop the infrastructure of these ports, in addition to establishing special corridors to transport (transit) between the border ports, and modernizing the roads connecting to the ports to serve the transportation process from and to them, as well as directing the health departments in the governorates; To confront the Corona pandemic and provide the required medical supplies. 
    It is noteworthy that the Commission announced on the twelfth of last June the organization of activities (the first meeting to discuss ways to improve the work of the border crossings in Iraq), where the President of the Federal Integrity Commission Judge (Alaa Al-Saadi) confirmed that the border crossings represent one of the most important areas to supplement the budgets of countries, And a crossing point for the passage of individuals, goods and merchandise, and one of the main fields in preserving the country's national security, and an essential pillar of development and facilitation of investment opportunities.
