[size=45]On Thursday, the US Treasury imposed new sanctions against the Lebanese Hezbollah, targeting businessman Ahmed Jalal Reda Abdullah, as a financial intermediary for the party.[/size]
[size=45]The ministry stated, in a statement, that "Abdullah, five of those close to him, and eight affiliated companies in Lebanon and Iraq were subject to sanctions, and were included in the list of its Foreign Assets Control Office."[/size]
[size=45]At the beginning of this year, the US Treasury imposed sanctions on 3 Lebanese and 10 companies that it considered part of an international network of the Lebanese Hezbollah, and accused them of trying to evade the sanctions imposed on the party, which Washington classifies as a "terrorist organization."[/size]
