    Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Agriculture announced a directive to the Prime Minister, Mohamed Shiaa Al-Sudani, to compensate rice farmers and zero all dues. While it recommended the enactment of the Social Security Law and the activation of manufacturing industries, it called for converting the irrigation system from superficial to closed.
    The ministry's spokesman, Hamid al-Nayef, said, in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency, which was followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani instructed to compensate all rice farmers for this year with an amount of 120 billion dinars, and zero all compensation," noting that "the ministry's next plan Within the budget is the payment of farmers' dues in a timely manner without any delay.
    Al-Nayef added, "The ministry supported farmers by 70% for seeds and 50% for fertilizers and pesticides," noting that "this matter is a good gesture for the Sudanese government to support the agricultural sector."
    He stressed, "Agriculture is one of the important sectors in Iraq, and 60% of Iraqis are a rural community that includes the poultry sector, livestock, farmers, investors, veterinarians, and engineers, in addition to the agricultural sector absorbing all these labor hands," stressing "the need to provide social security in order to be parallel." to retire, and we hope this law will be passed.”
    He stressed, "the importance of activating the manufacturing industries, such as the establishment of paste factories, baguette factories, and date pressing factories, which attract labor and provide hard currency inside the country," calling for "attention to livestock through the fodder system in addition to providing water."
    And he indicated that "the most prominent files that should be among the government's priorities are the files of desertification and water," stressing "the importance of negotiating with the Turkish side regarding Iraq's share of water to rehabilitate the irrigation system and transform it from superficial to closed."
