The Ministry of Oil determined, on Sunday, that the month of July will witness the handover of the Korean consortium based on the establishment of the Karbala refinery to the Central Refineries Company.
The official newspaper, Al-Sabah, quoted an official source in the ministry as saying, “The company is studying, and from now on, operating the refinery with experienced staff, especially since there are exchange units on them with up to 7 billion dinars, and the refinery workers do not have the competence to work on them.”
The source added, "The refineries in all countries of the world, including the complex owned by major companies, conclude a service contract with an experienced company that operates and trains the staff to integrate and work with them with the same capabilities, as happened in the Dora refinery in the fifties of the last century."
And he stressed that "work training is a goal pursued by the Ministry and the Central Refineries Company, pointing to the existence of work groups corresponding to the experience of the Korean worker, and the company will be contracted for a year or two to ensure the development of cadres and their competencies in pursuit of the proper operation of the refinery."
