The Governor of Karbala, Nassif Al-Khattabi, announced on Thursday that the completion rates in the Karbala refinery exceeded 90 percent.
Al-Khattabi said to the "Information" agency that "works in one of the most important oil projects in the country, represented by the Karbala refinery, are taking place at an accelerated pace by the executing company and under the supervision of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil."
He added, "In the middle of this year, the refinery will witness a trial operation, to provide thousands of job opportunities for various specializations."
Al-Khattabi stressed that "what the refinery will produce of oil products will contribute significantly to reducing the import of oil derivatives outside the country."
