    On Thursday, the Federal Integrity Commission revealed the number of those against whom judicial convictions were issued for committing financial corruption crimes, and those referred by the commission in Baghdad and the provinces during the past year, noting that their number reached 1,088 employees, of whom 34 were general manager and above.
    The head of the Federal Integrity Commission, Haider Hanoun, said in an interview with the official newspaper today, (April 6, 2023), that “the crimes varied between 42 charges of bribery, 104 charges of embezzlement, in addition to 708 charges of exceeding the limits of the position, in addition to 44 convicted of the crime of forgery. Of those convicted of other financial corruption crimes, it reached 163.
    And he added, “The number of convicts from the Ministry of Finance reached 170, of whom four were with the rank of general manager and higher, and their number in the Ministry of Construction and Housing was 158, four of them with the rank of general director, and their number in the Ministry of Health reached 126, of whom three were with the rank of general manager, and their number within the Ministry of Oil was 92 convicts, While within the Ministry of Justice, it reached 88 convicts.
    Hanoun continued, “The number of convicts within the governorates’ bureaus is 79, of whom five have the rank of director general, along with convicts in other ministries, indicating that the authority is issuing a regulatory regulation to disclose financial liabilities and oblige those charged with them, as well as issuing regulations for professional behavior and ensuring their implementation.” In addition to developing methods to enhance integrity and combat corruption.
    He emphasized that “the work of the commission is centered on preventing and combating corruption and adopting transparency in managing governance affairs in cooperation with all oversight bodies and other bodies, by preparing anti-corruption policies, following up on their implementation and investigating their cases in accordance with the provisions of the law, as well as detecting cases of illicit gain and recovering wanted persons and smuggled funds.” Abroad".
