    The Ministry of Transport announced, on Monday, that three advanced berths will enter service soon, indicating that one of them is allocated for the export of oil.
    The ministry stated in a statement that "the Japanese loan projects, in their second phase, include the construction of three berths," explaining that "the first is allocated for the export of oil derivatives, with a length of 340 meters and a width of 20 meters. It is located in the port of Khor Al-Zubayr, which is the longest berth in the history of the Ports Company." ".
    She added, "This dock contains arms for loading oil derivatives - Japanese made - and it is equipped with a very advanced safety system, and it is used for the first time in the region, in addition to the presence of an automatic firefighting system, in the event of fires."
    She continued, "The other two berths are located in the port of Umm Qasr, one of which will be 250 meters long and 30 meters wide, and will be used for mooring and maintenance of rigs and marine vessels, and is located 4 km northeast of Umm Qasr port, near the fishermen's wharf," indicating that "this berth will be With a structural design different from the rest of the berths, and dedicated to the maintenance of rigs.
    And the statement added, "The third berth will be 300 meters long, consisting of five mooring and anchoring pillars, and it is intended for mooring offshore rigs, in addition to buildings, workshops, modern firefighting systems, arms for loading oil derivatives, and electrical and mechanical works."
    The statement stated, "The company executing the work is the Japanese Mitsubishi Corporation, with its subcontractors, the Turkish companies Calik Enerji and Gap Inssat."
    He pointed out that "the project will work with a global contracting system, based on standard documents, and ensures the distribution of rights and responsibilities in a balanced manner between the contracting parties, and that the project is managed by the staff of the General Company for Iraqi Ports, in the contractual role of the employer, while the staff of the two Japanese consulting companies united Nippon Koei and Oriental Global (NKOC) as the Resident Engineer.
    The ministry's statement concluded, "The completion rate of the project has reached 100%, and that these sidewalks are in the process of being handed over and received, and after that the sidewalks, facilities and buildings will be put into operation soon."
