Al-Sudani: The unified treasury account contributes to anti-corruption measures

Yesterday, Wednesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani considered the treasury's unified account an added contribution to anti-corruption measures, while he launched the Rustamiya and Nusour Square expansion projects.
Al-Sudani said, while chairing a meeting to follow up on the completion of the unified treasury account and electronic payment procedures at points of sale (POS): “These steps come within the government’s efforts to implement financial and banking reforms, and the unified treasury account will be an added contribution to anti-corruption measures and limiting the ability of corrupt people to Exploiting loopholes.
Al-Sudani directed that “an amendment be made to the electronic payment system No. 3 of 2014, as well as the approval of the electronic payment document by the Financial Supervision Bureau as a substitute for the paper receipt, as part of a series of procedures towards employing and approving electronic payment at points of sale (POS) in an expanded manner, in the public sectors.” and private.”
In this regard, the Prime Minister pointed out, upon his launch, via a teleconference, of the work on the project to implement the bridges linking the Muhammad Al-Qasim Expressway with the Army Canal Road from the Al-Rustamiya side, and the expansion of roads on both sides of the Army Canal, stating that it “includes the design, implementation and development of Al-Nusour Square through the construction of three tunnels.” for cars and two bridges.
Al-Sudani reaffirmed "the government's endeavor, since day one, to take practical steps towards services, due to the importance of this file for the citizen in terms of living, urban and health," noting that "services in the capital, Baghdad, represent a priority, especially with regard to traffic jams, which constitute a chronic problem." He pointed to "the availability of financial allocations in the three-year budget," explaining that "the projects to remove traffic jams are implemented for the first time in Baghdad, and their positive effects will appear after implementation."
He stressed that "the project includes tunnels and bridges, and there are many conflicts according to the maps, which requires the collaboration of all state institutions to find solutions and implement them, in a way that does not affect the level of required service, nor the pace of completion."
The Prime Minister directed "to complete the work within the timelines established in the contract, and according to the designs and specifications prepared, in a manner befitting the capital, Baghdad, and the importance of finding alternative ways to relieve the citizen's burden during implementation, in addition to the responsibility that rests with the Traffic Department in assisting technicians to ensure the smoothness of the road during implementation.”
He pointed out that "there will be continuous follow-up with the Ministry of Construction and Housing, the Municipality of Baghdad, the executing company and the security services present at the site in order to determine the work requirements."
The expansion project of Al-Nusour Square includes the construction of a tunnel with a length of 490 meters, linking Jordan Street and Al-Qadisiyah Street, and another tunnel with a length of 535 meters connecting Jaffa Street and Beirut Street. In addition to the construction of the Al-Nusour Bridge with a length of 890m and connecting Damascus Street and Muhammad Mahdi Al-Jawahiri Street, with the two approach bridges with a length of 300m, and a bridge for cars over the railway line with a length of 478m, linking Qahtan Square, passing through the Baghdad-Basra railway to the intersection of Umm Al-Tabul. The project includes widening the roads surrounding the work sites.
