    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Monday (September 4, 2023), the leader in the coordination framework, Turki Jadaan, suggested that an arrest warrant be issued against the former Prime Minister (Mustafa Al-Kazemi) “soon,” while he indicated that there are 3 files currently incriminating him, according to what he said.
Jadaan told "Baghdad Today", that "the extent of corruption in the government of former Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi is large, and there are more than 20 files subject to investigations by the competent authorities," pointing out that "issuing memorandums against Al-Kazemi's aides is the beginning of the long journey in exposing corruption." It's starting to unfold," he said.
He added, "The issuance of an arrest warrant against Al-Kazemi is just a matter of time in light of the existence of 3 files currently condemning him, according to the information," stressing that "the issuance of the warrant remains subject to the decisions of the just Iraqi judiciary, which we see as a great bulwark in the face of corruption."
Jadaan pointed out that "the investigations need time for the facts to unfold before public opinion," pointing out that "Al-Kazemi was not involved in corruption cases, but rather pushed the looting of public money in various ways by exploiting the position he and his assistants."
It is noteworthy that the Federal Integrity Commission in Iraq announced, on March 3, 2023, the issuance of arrest warrants and investigations against four senior officials in the former government headed by Mustafa Al-Kazemi, on charges of facilitating the seizure of tax secretariat sums known as the "theft of the century."
She explained that the arrest and investigation orders were issued against the Minister of Finance, the Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, the Personal Secretary of the Prime Minister, and the Media Adviser to the Prime Minister in the previous government, “on the charge of facilitating the seizure of tax secretariat amounts,” pointing to the issuance of orders to seize their money. movable and immovable for the accused.
It is noteworthy that the issue of tax secretariats is related to the theft of 3 trillion and 700 billion Iraqi dinars (equivalent to 2.5 billion dollars) from the state treasury, specifically from the governmental Rafidain Bank, which is tax revenue money, and Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani announced at the end of last November, Recover 182 billion dinars (about 124.7 million dollars) of that money.
While the head of the Integrity Commission, Haider Hanoun, described, in a press conference, held on August 6 in Baghdad, the issue of theft of tax secretariats as "the biggest issue of corruption mixed with treason, and that the stay of those involved in it outside the bars will not continue," stressing "the organization of red flags for the wanted, who are the head of the apparatus The former intelligence service, the finance minister of the previous government, the private secretary of the former prime minister, as well as the former political advisor to the former prime minister.
