    Baghdad/Al-Masala Al-Hadath: Advisor to the Prime Minister for Transport Affairs, Nasser Al-Asadi, confirmed that the development path is a national project that begins in Iraq and reaches Europe.
    Al-Asadi said that there are many meetings with companies daily regarding participation in the development road project, as there are many countries that have expressed their desire to participate through their ministers, ambassadors, or private companies, including Austria, China, and all the Gulf countries.
    He added: I met with advisors from Germany, Britain, and the ambassadors of Spain, Bulgaria, Japan, and Austria. We also have other ongoing meetings with international organizations, where we met with the World Bank and World Bank institutions, for the purpose of directing the development path project.
    He added: At a later time, we will have a very important meeting with one of the world’s leading consultants, for the purpose of studying economic cities, and his name will be important in the project, noting that the consultant has designed large global cities, including NEOM, Saudi Arabia.
    He explained that the design phase had begun, and there were conflicts, as the plans were distributed to all governorates, and each governorate began studying the route of the line and its relationships with its projects.
    He continued, “There are some governorates that responded that there are no conflicts regarding the path of the development road project, and the remaining governorates responded that there are conflicts, and this path is currently being studied and amendments are being made within those governorates.”
    He pointed out that Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani confirmed that within a very close period, not exceeding the end of this month, there will be a large meeting to sign memorandums of understanding or contracts in initials.
    He pointed out that the India-Middle East train project that was talked about at the G20 summit passes through many countries, so there must be major agreements between them that may be complicated or disrupted. As for the development path, it is an integrated national project that starts from Iraq to reach Europe. The proportion of the route within Iraq is 1,200 km, and within Turkey 2,000 km, thus the total route line of the Development Road is 3,200 km, while the Indian project extends for a distance of 7,000 km, and the Development Road project is the shortest distance and lowest transportation costs.
