    {Economic: Al-Furat News} The financial and economic advisor to the Prime Minister, Mazhar Muhammad Salih, stressed the “important advantage” of the development road in shortening the distance and time at the same time, the railway connection between Iraq and Turkey and all the way to Europe.
    Saleh told {Al-Furat News} agency: “Iraq, in its current geopolitical location, is the ideal linking point between the East and the West, and the development path strategy has taken into account an important issue, which is the homogeneity of means of transportation on the ground and in a continuous manner, as it connects the northern Gulf to Europe by railways and the accompanying transportation. A reduction in transportation costs and the accompanying speed of transportation and a shortened standard time at the same time.”
    He stated that "such a reality in economic geography will give the development path a comparative advantage in international economic competitiveness over other international alternatives (such as the economic path) that was approved at the last meeting of the Group of Twenty countries, which is more expensive and more time-consuming, as it doubles and multiplies the costs of maritime transportation and costs."
