Environment Minister Nizar Amidi confirmed on Friday that the government is working to adopt and implement the idea of the “green economy” to diversify the economy in the country.
The Ministry of Environment stated in a press statement, “Minister of Environment Nizar Amedi met in Jeddah with Egyptian Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad, in conjunction with the holding of the Ninth Conference of Environment Ministers in the Islamic World, whose meetings began in Jeddah and were organized by the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture with the Islamic World Educational Organization.” And science and culture ISESCO.
The two sides discussed the strategic cooperation map to prepare for the holding of the Conference of States Parties at its twenty-eighth session on climate change in Dubai - COP 28, after the success of strengthening joint Arab and global action in achieving the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement at the COP 27 conference held in Sharm El-Sheikh in Cairo last year.
During the meeting, according to the statement, “it was emphasized to strengthen business partnerships and joint programs between the two countries, expand cooperation in all environmental fields, and agree to achieve future visits for both parties. “
Amedi stressed, “The current government, through the Ministry of Environment, is working to adopt and implement the idea of the green economy in order to diversify the economy in the country and ensure a bright future for future generations.”[/rtl]
