    [rtl]Baghdad - Iraq Today:

    At an international conference on climate change and its repercussions on security and development held in Baghdad, National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji delivered an important speech in which he addressed many issues of importance. 

    Al-Araji stressed the close relationship between climate and the national security of any country, stressing the need to address climate challenges.

    He stressed that terrorist groups and drug and smuggling gangs could take advantage of terrorism in countries to carry out illegal activities, and called for strengthening security to prevent this.

    He pointed out the importance of changing awareness about the climate and called for starting to change the way people think about this topic.

    He explained that the security services are working on developing plans to ensure the sustainability of security and the effective implementation of government programs.

    He also stressed cooperation with friendly countries and international organizations in the field of climate and environment.

    He pointed to the problem of water shortage and the need to use water resources more efficiently.

    He stressed the importance of reform in the security sector in Iraq and adapting the security services to the challenges, noting the importance of activating the role of citizens in security and cooperating with the security services.

    He stated that security must be for the benefit of the citizen and not against him.

    He touched on the efforts of the Sudanese government to strengthen the security services, pointing to the transfer of the security file from the army to the Ministry of Interior as an important step.

    He also emphasized the distribution of work areas among the security services to avoid overlap in responsibilities and powers.

    Noting the importance of environmental and strategic security to achieve sustainable security.

    He stressed the Iraqi government's will to resolve issues with neighboring countries through diplomatic channels.

    He also touched on cooperation with the Kurdistan region and Iran regarding the transfer of opposition militants and common issues. He pointed to the formation of a higher committee to visit Turkey to enhance security understanding between the two countries.

    He noted the importance of strengthening relations with neighboring countries, including Kuwait.

    He pointed out the important role of women in state positions and praised their contribution to security work.

    These points, which represent the conclusion of the National Security Advisor's speech, highlight the importance of dealing with climate and security issues seriously and with sustainable cooperation to achieve sustainable development and ensure national security.[/rtl]
