On Saturday, the Ministry of Transport set the completion rates for the highway project linking the development road and the submerged tunnel to the port of Al-Faw .
The Ministry stated in a statement seen by Al-Eqtisad News that “the completion rate in the highway project linking the development road and the submerged tunnel to the Grand Al-Faw Port, which is 62 kilometers long, has reached 53%,” stressing that “work continues.” With great enthusiasm, based on the directives of the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibes Al-Saadawi, which emphasizes accelerating the implementation of the Grand Al-Faw Port projects .”
The Director General of Iraqi Ports, Farhan Al-Fartusi, said, according to the statement, “The benefit of this road is to transport goods back and forth to the port, and it is linked with the development road to the international highway and from there to Turkey. ”
Al-Fartousi added, “The work on the bridges within the project is also achieving advanced completion rates,” explaining, “The road consists of 4 double lanes, extending towards the submerged tunnel with a length of 62 kilometers, and contains two bridges, three roundabouts, and rest stops. The project also includes Modern technologies related to safety and security .”
