The Ministerial Council for the Economy approves two projects to save the service reality on the outskirts of Baghdad and reduce the price of Kurdistan oil

Shafaq News / The Ministerial Council for Economy announced, today, Monday, its approval to start two sewage projects in the Nahrawan and Saba al-Bur regions to improve the service situation in the areas on the outskirts of Baghdad. While it decided to reduce the prices of processing white oil for the citizens of the Kurdistan Region, it also approved the import of brand pharmaceutical products exclusively.
The Ministerial Council for Economy said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, “Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fawad Hussein chaired, today, Monday, the thirty-sixth session of the Council, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning, the Ministers of Finance, Trade, Agriculture, Industry, Labor and Social Affairs, and the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, the Governor of the Central Bank, the Chairman of the National Investment Authority, the Prime Minister’s advisors for economic and legal affairs, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil.
The Council hosted "the Governor of Baghdad to complete discussions on the two sewage projects for the Nahrawan and Sabaa al-Bur areas, and agreed to start these two important projects to improve the service situation in the areas on the outskirts of Baghdad."
The Council also decided to "reduce the price of supplying white oil to the governorates of the Kurdistan Region to 250 dinars per liter instead of 500 dinars per liter due to the onset of winter."
According to the statement, the Council also decided to “open the import of pharmaceutical preparations to manufacturers that own the trademark exclusively (Brand), provided that coordination is made with the Ministry of Industry regarding national product protection fees.”
The statement continued, "With regard to the principle of cumulative voting for joint-stock companies, the Council decided to choose the voting mechanism used to elect the boards of directors of companies for the General Assembly and not to oblige companies to work on the principle of cumulative voting. It also decided to continue preparing the Ministry of Oil for liquid gas products for the plants that were designed on this basis."
The Council approved "excluding the Al Ammar-Dhi Qar Oil Company road maintenance project from the work regulations in order to connect the company with the highway."
