    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Independent MP Sajjad Salem commented today, Wednesday (November 29, 2023), on the Council of Ministers’ vote on a number of special grades to obtain the status of originality instead of agency.
Salem told "Baghdad Today", "The Council of Ministers' step came in order to establish quotas and share the spoils among some influential political blocs, especially since this vote was limited to politically supported names that came to the position thanks to quotas and partisan interests."
He added, "This decision certainly came under political pressure and political agreements to install some heads of special grades, so that these parties and blocs would not lose these positions during the coming period, especially since the selection process was carried out without regard to competence and far from all criteria for selecting those with special grades."
During its regular session yesterday, Tuesday (November 28, 2023), the Council of Ministers voted on a number of special grades and sent them to the House of Representatives for the purpose of voting on them and obtaining the status of originality instead of proxy, before the date of 11-30-2023 that the House of Representatives set in the budget.
The Council voted on Abdul-Ilah al-Naili, head of the Martyrs Foundation, Hussein al-Sultani, head of the Prisoners Foundation, and Haider al-Shammari to head the Shiite Endowment Office, as well as Mishaan al-Khazraji to head the Sunni Endowment Office, Izzat Saber, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, and Maher Hammad, Undersecretary of the Minister of Planning.
The vote also included: Ghassan Al-Muhammadi, Deputy Minister of Commerce, Adel Karim Kak, Deputy Minister of Electricity, as well as Abdul Hamza Al-Tufaili, Deputy Minister of Electricity, Matin Al-Jadiri, Under-Secretary of Reconstruction, Sami Al-Masoudi, Head of the Hajj and Umrah Authority, and Samir Salman, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment.
