    Political observer Sabah Al-Ukaili confirmed on Thursday that the current governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, is receiving great support from the Kuwaiti side as he is one of its tools inside Iraq.

    Al-Ugaili said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “The coordination framework’s view of removing Asaad Al-Eidani and not renewing him is due to several reasons, foremost of which is that he received Kuwaiti external support and is considered one of the important tools to penetrate the Iraqi interior, especially since the issues of the land and sea borders with Kuwait have not been resolved, in addition to the proven involvement of him.” With corruption files.”
    He added, "The Governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, took advantage of Basra voters with promises to distribute lands to obtain votes, and he proved this with video recordings, in addition to his involvement in obtaining external support from the State of Kuwait, and therefore he cannot be trusted with the fate of the governorate." 
    He pointed out, “Al-Eidani’s exploitation of his position, his distribution of lands outside the controls, and his proven receipt of financial support from the State of Kuwait made the forces of the coordinating framework consider it in the national interest and the interest of Basra Governorate to remove his position, as he has become one of the important tools for penetrating the Iraqi interior.”
    He continued, "The view to choosing a new governor has become urgent, and the consensual equation between the political blocs must be subject to the framework of choosing a national figure who is not subject to an external party."
