The Iraqi delegation and its Czech counterpart discussed today, Tuesday, strengthening economic cooperation, developing trade, and activating joint relations in various sectors and fields.
The Ministry of Industry and Minerals stated in a statement received by Mawazine News, “The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Battal Al-Najm, chaired, with the Czech Minister of Industry and Trade, Josef Sikela, the meetings of the fourth session of the Iraqi-Czech Joint Committee, which was held in the Czech capital, Prague, to discuss enhancing economic cooperation, developing trade, and activating “Joint relations in various sectors and fields, during his current official visit to the Czech Republic at the head of a government delegation that included representatives of a number of state ministries.”
The two sides stressed, according to the statement, “the importance of this session as the beginning of a new era of bilateral cooperation in specific areas of importance to both countries, focusing on developing infrastructure projects and enhancing job opportunities between the two sides.”
The Ministry added, in its statement, that “the meetings dealt with a review of developments in bilateral relations between the two countries and discussions and deliberations on the paragraphs and topics included in the program and curriculum of the session, which relate to strengthening economic and trade relations and increasing bilateral cooperation in various sectors and fields.”
She continued, “The meeting witnessed the signing of the minutes of the joint meeting, which included paragraphs on strengthening cooperation and joint relations in the industry, mining, raw materials, construction, energy, water, and agricultural sectors, in addition to cooperation in the fields of planning and development cooperation, the gas and oil industry, the fields of health care, banking and financial services, youth, sports, and others.”
She indicated that “in the context of the meeting, the Minister sent an official invitation to the Czech Minister of Industry and Trade to visit Iraq within the framework of the two parties’ agreement to continue supporting the exchange of visits to both countries and the keenness of both countries to advance joint relations to the highest levels.”
She noted that “the Minister and the government delegation accompanying him attended the businessmen’s forum held in the capital, Prague, to discuss opportunities for cooperation and joint work between businessmen of both countries and to strengthen partnerships and joint investment opportunities
