The Charge d'Affairs of Iraq to the United Nations in New York, Abbas Kadhim Obaid, on Tuesday condemned the Iranian, American and Turkish attacks that affected Iraqi lands. This came during the UN Security Council session to discuss the various situations in Iraq.
Obaid said during the session, “Iraq seeks to establish balanced relations with neighboring countries and not to export the countries’ internal problems abroad,” pointing out that “Iraq denounces the Iranian, American, and Turkish attacks on its lands, and that these attacks are a serious threat to the security of Iraq and its people.”
He added, “The Iraqi government is adopting a new phase of construction and reconstruction, in addition to making exceptional efforts to improve the economic and security conditions of citizens.”
Obaid continued, “Baghdad and Erbil are working to maintain the stability of their relationship, in addition to ongoing coordination with Kurdistan to restore the Turkish oil transport line.”
He added, “Iraq wants to cooperate with the international coalition in the field of armament and intelligence coordination,” noting that “the security services are keen to combat drugs and dry up their sources.”
He stated, “Bilateral cooperation between Iraq and the State of Kuwait is continuing on various common files.”
