Today, Friday, the Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadel, set the stages and date for completing the electrical interconnection with four countries, while confirming the entry of 500 megawatts from the Gulf interconnection by the end of this year.
Fadel said, in a statement to the official agency followed by Mawazine News, that “most of the interconnection contracts are under implementation, as the interconnection with Jordan has reached its final stages. Only approval has been opened to launch the electrical current,” explaining that “the Saudi interconnection has reached advanced stages, and the advisory contract has been signed to prepare "Rarity."
He added, "The Gulf connection has completion rates between the Kuwaiti and Iraqi sides that have exceeded 45 percent, and by the end of this year the line will be completed and we will launch 500 megawatts."
Fadel pointed out that "the link with the Iranian side, the lines are currently in operation, and there is a part of them that we do not need at the present time, and the ministry is proceeding with all contracts in a harmonious and thoughtful manner."
