    Economy News - Baghdad
The Ministry of Agriculture announced today, Saturday, that the rate of encroachment on agricultural lands has decreased significantly, while confirming that recent encroachments will not be included in Resolution 320.
Director General of the Ministry’s Agricultural Lands Department, Ali Hamid Al-Shammari, said, “The government’s approach is clear through the issuance of Council of Ministers Resolution 320 in 2022 regarding converting agricultural lands to residential, and it was followed by some other decisions that set the controls for implementing the decision.”
He explained, "A committee has been formed to follow up on the implementation of the decision and answer all inquiries and inquiries regarding it," stressing the "government's seriousness in implementing it."
He pointed out that “the implementation of the decision has reached advanced stages after raising the hand of agricultural reform and canceling contracts for agricultural lands that were violated for housing, and what remains is two discretionary stages that include ownership and issuing bonds,” indicating that “the area is estimated at about 81 thousand dunams in all governorates.” ".
He added, "The decision obligated the ministry departments, municipal institutions, and administrative units to monitor the lands and prevent encroachment upon them after the issuance of the decision," pointing out that "the decision was circulated to the administrative units in the agricultural directorates, and there is serious follow-up to prevent violations."
He added, "Encroachments on agricultural lands decreased by 90 percent," stressing that "recent encroachments will not be included in Resolution 320, as the decision gave a maximum time limit of 90 days after its issuance."
