Today, Saturday (April 13, 2024), member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, Hadi Al-Salami, called for the dissolution of the Najaf Governorate Investment Authority after observing numerous violations .
Al-Salami said in an interview with "Baghdad Today", "In light of the documents and evidence we have, supported by an official letter from the head of the National Investment Commission, confirming that the licenses granted by the Najaf Investment Commission were without an investment map, and this is a clear and clear violation."
He added, "The governor of Najaf formed an investigation committee and sent it to the public prosecution, and many violations were detected, including failure to complete the investment map."
The member of Parliamentary Integrity pointed out that “all the documents we have have been submitted to the Integrity and Public Prosecution, so that each of them can take its role in following up on the violations . ”
He continued, "His demand to dissolve the Najaf Investment Authority is a precautionary measure and is submitted to the Provincial Council because our ultimate goal is to preserve public money, especially since the licenses granted by the Authority have sparked anger and objections from the people in some areas, especially with regard to investing in green areas."
Earlier, Member of Parliament Hadi Al-Salami called for ending the appointment of the Governor of Najaf, Majid Al-Waeli, and relieving the head of the Governorate Investment Authority .
A document issued on June 1, 2023, a copy of which was obtained by Baghdad Today, referred to a “parliamentary request to end the assignment of the governor of Najaf and dismiss the head of the governorate’s investment authority, based on integrity reports and violations that caused the waste of public money in investment and urban projects and mismanagement.” and services in administrative units and most departments.”
