    The ministry’s spokesman, Ahmed Al-Abadi, said in a press interview, "The ministry seeks to ensure that the supply and stability of electric power this summer is better than previous years and at all levels, such as production, transportation and distribution, despite the challenges it faces, mainly the limited financial allocations and the delay in approving the budget." Stressing, "The ministry seeks, at the level of production, to reach energy to 22 thousand megawatts, by introducing a number of new units and rehabilitating the established ones."
    He added, "The staff also intended to maintain and rehabilitate the power transmission lines 400 and 132 (KV) that extend over vast areas and which are exposed from time to time to sabotage operations by terrorist elements in some areas, in addition to the near opening of the East Rusafa 400 (KV) station. ), Al-Shatrah and Maysan stations, Al-Baladiyat, and Al-Batoul 132 (KV), in addition to the completion of the Shatra and Maysan transfer stations, which have entered service soon, which will contribute to loosening the bottlenecks.
    Al-Abadi explained, "The staff is also carrying out rehabilitation operations for the distribution sector in all its joints in Baghdad and the governorates, as the ministry decided to deal by way of payment for the processing of transformers and the manufacture of mobile stations to increase the reliability of the distribution networks."
    He stressed that "the ministry has contracts with the Diyala and Electrical Industries Company to provide transformers to the Ministry of Electricity, as the ministry has a plan requiring zeroing of all faulty transformers in Baghdad and the provinces, which will be fully completed at the end of this April."
    Al-Abadi revealed the completion of the study of the technical and commercial offers for the installation of "smart meters", and the generalization of this experience, indicating that "the plan has been referred to the Council of Ministers, and it is hoped that the (Aweerij) region will witness the launch of this new experiment at the level of Iraq, and its evaluation from time to time. ".
