The Ministry of Electricity seeks to bring its energy production to 28 thousand megawatts next summer, stressing that its production is currently 14,800 megawatts despite the removal of a large number of obstetric units and stations due to annual maintenance work on them.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Electricity, Ahmed Al-Abadi, said in an interview: “The ministry achieved during the past few years the highest production of 21,145 megawatts, and accordingly, in conjunction with the mild temperatures, it stopped a number of stations and obstetric units for periodic maintenance in preparation for the winter peak period, especially since there are Two peak seasons in which the Ministry enters into the winter or summer seasons. He added that "the technical staff, in accordance with the peak loads, started maintenance work for stations in the governorates of Basra and Dhi Qar, and the work of the second phase of the Rumaila investment station.
