    Today, Friday, the Ministry of Water Resources identified three reasons behind the decline in water levels, while the ministry is looking forward to melting snow, which will determine the fate of the summer agricultural plan long-awaited by the Ministry of Agriculture and Peasants.
    The ministry's spokesman, Ali Radi, said, "The country suffered from water scarcity last season due to many factors, the most important of which are nature and climatic changes, especially since Iraq is one of the countries most affected by these changes, in addition to the presence of another aspect, which is the technical, which is due to the upstream countries that usually The expansion of its dams, reservoirs, and irrigation projects has an impact on Iraq’s water revenues.”
    He pointed out that "Iraq achieved an abundance of water in 2017, as it was an abundant year with water, and it was used to increase water storage."
    He continued: “We are in the spring season, which is the season of melting snow, and there are water forecasts during this period. Therefore, the water revenues in this season will give all the data, and the next agricultural plan will be determined in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture. Through the data, we determine the responsible governorates, including Diyala, As 80 percent of the water revenues come from the Diyala River and 20 percent from the Tigris River.”
    He continued, "The ministry worked to provide the Khalis plant in order to secure drinking water and gardening, and dozens of wells were dug in order to secure water for treatment."
