The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities has started the implementation of 15 new residential cities, with the approval of their designs in Baghdad and the provinces.
Minister Benkin Rikani told Al-Sabah: "The ministry held an expanded meeting with the governors in order to set the final mechanisms for the project." He added, "The Ministry of Planning will undertake the development of administrative aspects for each new city, in addition to coordinating with the governorates to create new municipal institutions for the districts, leading to integrated procedures that strengthen these cities."
He pointed to "the agreement with the Ministries of Finance and Agriculture to legally complete the procedures for transferring land ownership," noting that "the cities will be adjacent to the current cities and include integrated services."
