The Independent High Electoral Commission counted, today, Friday, the numbers of candidates excluded from the upcoming elections, while setting the dates for approving the names of replacements and launching the electoral campaign.
The head of the commission’s media team, Imad Jamil, said, “As of today, Friday, more than 300 candidates have been excluded, distributed as follows: (197) accountability and justice, (102) criminal records, (1) affiliated with national security, (1) terrorism, (1) Integrity, (19) Not fulfilling the nomination requirements.”
Jamil added, “The Commission will announce the approval of the names of the candidates in the first week of November, so that the electoral campaign will begin in the same week.”
Regarding the spread of private voting centers and stations, Jamil said, “The number of polling centers for public voting is 7,166, and public voting stations are 35,553, while the number of private voting centers is 565, and the number of their stations is 2,367, and private voting includes all internal security forces, defense, and other bodies in addition to Popular Mobilization Authority.
He continued: "As for displaced people's voting, the number of displaced people decreased from 120,000 to 48,000 due to their return to their homes. The number of polling centers for the displaced reached 34 and their stations numbered 120. Thus, the total number of public and private polling centers and the displaced people is (7,765) and the total number of stations is (38,040)."
He pointed out that "the polling centers and stations will be managed by state employees, university students, and graduates, and these numbers are final numbers that can be finally approved, and they will be managed by 214,595 employees." Ended 29/H
