    Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani confirmed the government's continuation in including infrastructure and service projects for Karbala.
    The Prime Minister's media office stated in a statement, today, Sunday (August 25, 2024), received by "Baghdad Today", that "Al-Sudani met yesterday evening, Saturday, with the head and members of the Karbala Provincial Council, as part of his visit to the province, to follow up on the progress of the plan to visit to commemorate the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein and his companions, peace be upon them."
    He added that "Al-Sudani pointed out during the meeting, to the concerted efforts made to make the Arbaeen pilgrimage a success in all its service and security aspects," stressing "the government's continuation in including infrastructure projects and service projects that would ensure the ease and smoothness of performing the pilgrimage, starting from the distant or neighboring governorates of Karbala, all the way to the shrine of the Master of Martyrs, Imam Hussein and his brother Abbas, peace be upon them."
    Al-Sudani explained that "the tasks that fall within the responsibility of local governments, including Karbala Governorate, are of great importance in everything that affects the lives of citizens," stressing "the necessity for local projects to be in line with the priorities of the government program, and the strategic projects planned and funded by ministries, in order to meet the requirements of the citizen, and achieve his aspirations in federal and local government institutions that provide services, and work to raise the economic and living standards of our people in all parts of Iraq."
