    [ltr]Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of parliament Security & Defense Committee, Hakim al-Zamili, revealed escape of a number of prisoners and killing of others including Qaeda leaders in the armed attack on the Taji and Abu Ghraib prisons in Baghdad that took place on last Sunday evening.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Unidentified gunmen attacked on last Sunday Taji and Abu Ghraib prisons using IEDs and machine guns and tried to break into the two prisons to free the prisoners.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Zamili stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Some of the Qaeda leaders managed to escape from Abu Ghraib prison while other prisoners were killed in hands of the security forces when they tried to escape, but the number of the escapees are not known so far.”[/ltr]

    [ltr]“The prison’s administration kept silent towards the incident,” he added noting “The two prisons are under control.”[/ltr]
    [ltr]“The measures of the security forces were weak and not as required where the escaped prisoners did riot and seized some of the security forces’ weapons,” Zamili pointed out stressing “This demonstrates connive of the prisons’ administration with the gunmen.”[/ltr]

    [ltr]Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The security forces foiled an attempt to break into Taji and Abu Ghraib prisons by some unidentified gunmen.[/ltr]
    [ltr]A security source stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The security forces used the helicopters and attacked the gunmen who were clashing with the guards to free the prisons.”[/ltr]
    [ltr]“Violent classed happened near the two prisons due to the attack,” the source concluded.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Earlier, a security source reported to IraqiNews.com ”The gunmen used all kinds of weapons during the armed clashes with the security forces tasked to guard the prison, ” noting that ”The gunmen used Improvised Explosive Devices, Anti-Tanks missile launchers (RPG) and machineguns.”[/ltr]

    Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Unidentified gunmen attacked Taji prison and Baghdad Central prison to the north and west of Baghdad.
    Security source reported to IraqiNews.com ”The gunmen used all kinds of weapons during the armed clashes with the security forces tasked to guard the prison, ” noting that ”The gunmen used Improvised Explosive Devices, Anti-Tanks missile launchers (RPG) and machineguns.”
    ”The armed clashes still ongoing between the gunmen and the security forces while the size of human casualties and material damages are unknown yet,” the source added.
    ”The attack is an attempt to smuggle the prisoners,” the source concluded.

    Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Taji prison underwent an armed attack to the north of Baghdad.

    Security source reported to IraqiNews.com ”Unidentified gunmen attacked Taji prison in an attempt to break into the prison while several rockets hit the Air Force Camp nearby the prison.’
    ”’The armed clashes between the gunmen and the prison guards are still ongoing until now,” the source added.
