The first marine area commander announced in the naval force of the Iranian army naval fleet headed for an army to the Sultanate of Oman to participate in the conduct of joint naval exercises with the Omani navy.
Agency for International Tasnim news agency reported that Admiral "Hussain Azad," commander of the First Naval Zone in the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran said that because of the prestige and importance of the southern maritime border and the Indian Ocean in the field of maritime economy and the large number of commercial ships and oil tankers frequency in these regions, these joint exercises between the two Iranian and Omani navies come in order to secure navigation in these areas, raising security readiness, and training to carry out relief operations.
He added, "Azad" that this year's maneuvers will be hosted by the Sultanate of Oman, where will be implemented in the southern waters of the Indian Ocean waters, will also take part where the destroyer "Sabalan" and the support ship carrying helicopters "Lawan" helicopter and gunboat carrier rockets, and with the participation of 1,000-units Omani where will continue for a week.
