The Parliamentary Health and Environment Committee on Wednesday called on the government to harness its potential to support the candidacy of Saleh al-Hasnawi as UNESCO Director-General, stressing that this position will contribute to the return of Iraq to exercise its leadership role.
"We call on the Iraqi government to harness its potential to support the candidacy of Dr. Saleh al-Hasnawi for the post of Director-General of UNESCO, because the importance of this position internationally, because it will contribute to the return of Iraq to exercise its leadership role," said Qutaybah al-Jubouri, .
"The Iraqi Foreign Ministry should make all diplomatic efforts to achieve this aspiration, which we all aspire to, and because Dr. Saleh Al-Hasnawi is a national Iraqi figure who has been loyal to the country - away from all affiliations, sincerity and integrity in the work when he was Minister of Health, His parliamentary work as a deputy in the Iraqi parliament for two elections. "
