    Executive Director of Russia 's Lukoil operating in Iraq , Waheed Alakbarov said on Friday in an interview with Reuters that his company will cut its crude oil production in Iraq as of June within the framework of the current international agreement to reduce production.
    He declined to the Executive Director to go into the details of the reduction process , saying only that the reduction would not be great.
    On the other hand , revealed Sputnik news Russian site that the Iraqi oil minister and in response to a question whether a request from the company to reduce production during the last month talks for oil - producing countries of OPEC and non - OPEC, said that Iraq asked Lukoil to reduce production in Iraq , local fields working out and that there are indications that the company is ready to reduce the daily rate of their production of 25 thousand barrels per day.
    Allaibi said in an interview while attending the Sputnik work of the International Economic Forum , which was held in St. Petersburg Thursday : "We have received earlier in an indirect response from Lukoil that they are ready to cut production by 25 thousand barrels per day."
    Meanwhile , Russian oil giant Rosneft agreed on Friday to explore and develop five fields in the Kurdistan region of Iraq as it seeks to become a major player in one of the latest oil and fastest growing regions in the world.
    Rosneft signed with the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government production sharing agreements for five concession areas of the Russian company said it would target gas exploration in the future also.
    Said Igor Sechin , chief executive of Rosneft and one of the closest allies of the Russian president Vladimir Putin said the company expands cooperation with Kurdistan after it signed earlier this year , advance funding to ensure Kurdish oil sales to refineries in Germany Rosneft agreement.
    Said Sechin in a statement that the agreement "hits an example of a weighty investment in one of the major regions of the Middle East that will enable the company to expand the scope of (activities) production and exploration."
