    US Defense Secretary Jim Matisse said the United States and its NATO partners had reduced their military presence in Afghanistan too quickly, but vowed to continue the war and refused to set a date on when it might end.
    "There is great agreement that we may have withdrawn our forces too quickly," Matisse told a news conference after a meeting of NATO defense ministers on Afghanistan.
    And the level of US troops below its peak of more than 100,000 troops in 2011 when Washington was under enormous internal political pressure to reduce the costly process.
