Turkey confirms its stand with Iraq in its war against terrorism

BAGHDAD / Al-Sabah:
Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri on Sunday discussed with Turkish Ambassador to Iraq Fatih Yildiz the bilateral relations between the two countries and means of enhancing them and the political and security challenges facing the region.
"The two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them, the regional and international developments, the political and security challenges facing the region, as well as the review of the relief package for the displaced and the reconstruction of the liberated areas," the statement said.
Al-Jubouri stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination between the two countries to face the security challenges in Iraq and the region. He pointed out that the victories achieved in the city of Mosul demonstrated to the world the ability of the Iraqis to overcome the crises by renouncing differences and ensuring the security and unity of the country. .
"The role of Turkey in its support for the displaced people and their relief," he said, pointing to "Iraq aspires to a greater role for Turkey and the international community in the reconstruction of liberated areas."
For his part, Yildiz stressed, "his country's support for Iraq in its war against terrorism, its support and provide all kinds of assistance with regard to the file of the displaced and reconstruction," praising "the efforts of the Iraqi parliament to stabilize the country."
