Rafidain Bank announces the sale of the dollar to pilgrims at the official rate
BAGHDAD, Aug 8 (KUNA) - The US dollar for pilgrims has been sold at the official rate, the information office of Rafidain Bank announced on Tuesday.
The bank said in a statement received by the Iraqi Press Agency that it "directed its branches to sell the dollar to pilgrims who want to buy it at the official price set by the bank of 120 thousand dinars for every hundred dollars and three thousand dollars per pilgrim from his branch in Baghdad and the provinces."
The Iraqi pilgrimage mission announced on Monday that "the first flights of land convoys to the Holy Land was launched today, through the port Arar border."
"The number of pilgrims arriving by air reached 7108, of which 5,570 were in Medina and 723 in Makkah," the mission said in a statement. "The first flight was launched on August 2 from Baghdad International Airport to the Holy Land With 333 pilgrims on board, preceded by the arrival of a flight to Medina coming from Basra airport. "
It is noteworthy that Major General Sami al-Sudani, director general of the border crossings in the Ministry of Interior revealed earlier that "the port of Arar border is ready for the promotion of pilgrims and the first trip will be the beginning of next month."
Al-Sudani pointed out that "the first convoy of pilgrims will leave through the port of Arar border as of 6/8 while a convoy of staff of the Hajj and Umrah Organization was left two days ago for purely administrative purposes," noting that "the Council of Ministers in its last session formed a high committee under the auspices of the Minister of Interior And the membership of four ministries and a representative of the border crossings to develop relations with the Saudi side for the purpose of building a beautiful port to be allocated for commercial exchange and travelers, while allocating the port of Arar to promote the pilgrims of the House of God, Visitors ".
