[rtl]Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called on the United States to pressure the Syrian opposition to participate in the Geneva II conference .[/rtl]
[rtl]"We expect our partners in other countries not only to have influence over the various opposition groups, but also to encourage these groups to shoulder their responsibility in creating the conditions for their part of the call to Geneva, " Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.[/rtl]
[rtl]The National Council, the largest political bloc in the opposition Syrian National Alliance, on Sunday directed a blow to international efforts to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis by announcing that it was not participating in the Geneva conference.[/rtl]
