TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran's Foreign Ministry said on Saturday it was following up US violations of the nuclear deal, saying it would respond to recent US measures that have imposed sanctions on Iranian officials on false pretexts.
"On Friday, January 12, 2018, US President Donald Trump extended sanctions on Iran after his failed attempt over a year to bring down the nuclear deal," the ministry said in a statement, noting that "the internal force of the nuclear agreement and international support for it, On Trump's efforts and the Zionist entity and the disastrous coalition of war advocates who wish to cancel or change the nuclear agreement. "
"The efforts of the president of the United States over the past year, his hostility to the Iranian people and the repeated threats he could not implement, continue today with the inclusion of a number of Iranian and non-Iranian names on the sanctions lists," he said in an attempt to restore part of his failure.
The Iranian foreign ministry condemned the "American threats and the naming of new sanctions lists," stressing that "the nuclear agreement is a significant international document can not be renegotiated in any form."
"The Islamic Republic of Iran clearly and unequivocally affirms that it will not take any action beyond its commitment to the nuclear agreement and will not accept any change in this agreement neither now nor in the future, and will not allow any link between the nuclear agreement and any other subject "He said.
"The US government, and the rest of the members of the nuclear agreement, are committed to implementing their obligations and, if they fail to comply with their obligations, they must bear their full consequences," the ministry said in a statement. Ending / 25
