    [ltr]Khandan - met Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki in Washington with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden. 

    According to a statement issued by the office of al-Maliki faces earned (Khandan) on the copy of it, that "during the meeting, they discussed the development of relations between Iraq and the United States and ways of enhancing them in all fields in the light of the strategic framework agreement." 

    The statement added that he was "stressed the need to expand cooperation between the two countries and support the efforts of the Iraqi government in the field of combating terrorism and achieving security and stability." 

    It was also "discuss the latest developments in the region and issues of common concern," according to the statement.
