(Baghdad: al-Furat News) discussed the Higher Committee for Investment and Reconstruction headed by Prime Minister Haider al-Abbadi on Thursday, service projects and tourism in the capital Baghdad.
"The committee discussed the provision of the right environment for investment and that Iraq is an attractive environment for investments through new laws and procedures that are currently being implemented, especially the recent issuance by the Council of Ministers in this regard," a statement from the Prime Minister's Office said.
He added that the meeting "discussed a number of projects and investment opportunities before the committee, including the draft channel of the army and the rehabilitation of the area around Baghdad International Airport and the project of the urban center of Baghdad and the island of weddings and Lake Jadiriya, and directed by the Commission.
The committee approved "a set of recommendations that help to implement these projects, including the formation of a small team linked to the Supreme Committee to follow up and facilitate procedures for investors and raise the obstacles that face them."
"Preparations for the Iraq reconstruction conference to be held next week in Kuwait have also been reviewed," the statement said
