WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States succeeded in listing Pakistan on a terrorism financing list after Saudi Arabia gave up its support for Islamabad after pressure from Washington, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The newspaper said, quoting officials familiar with the discussions, that Riyadh has succumbed to pressure from Washington after it was against the decision to include Islamabad in the list of financing terrorism.

In a meeting in Paris last Thursday, US officials met with Saudi representatives in the group. After the meeting, Saudi Arabia immediately relinquished support for Pakistan, and a decision was made to include it in the list of countries that are not doing enough to fight. Financing terrorism and money laundering.

"Before Riyadh gave up Islamabad, Saudi Arabia joined both China and Turkey in a first vote last Wednesday against a US proposal to place Pakistan on the list of countries that do not fight terrorism financing and money laundering," the Wall Street Journal reported.
