Oil rises ahead of Houston Energy Conference between OPEC and global oil exporters

Oil prices rose early on Monday, ahead of a planned meeting between OPEC and US oil shale companies in Houston, raising expectations that oil exporters could consider more ways to cut the world's oil surplus.
"The Brent crude index rose 44 cents, or 0.68 percent, to $ 64.81 a barrel, and the WTI rose 41 cents, or 0.67 percent, to $ 61.66 per barrel," Sky News said in a news release.
"Opec oil ministers are due to meet from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and other oil-producing countries in Houston, where the Sirowick Conference, the largest energy conference, will begin."
